We Want Melooo!!!

If you think super teams are bad for the NBA well you just cringed at the recent news of all star point guard Chris Paul being traded to the Houston Rockets. This trade now puts Houston in the conversation of best backcourt…. well on paper at least. It sounds like the sweet and sour candy commercial to be completely honest. The purest point guard in the league paired up with the best offensive player in the league in James Harden who also just came off his best season in his career both statistically and in performance. Here's the catch though, James Harden did all of this while playing point guard for the first time in his career while under the Mike D’Antoni system. Now James goes back to the 2 and CP3 of course at the one and now we have two ball dominant guards who to put it bluntly, must have the ball in their hands to excel at the highest level. But let's go from one move made to another move that should've been made about three to four years a...

May The Real MVP Please Stand Up

Image
“You're the real MVP”….the world heard these words from Kevin Durant as he won his first league MVP while leading the league in scoring with an average of 32 points per game in 2014 as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was clear that Kevin Durant was one of the best players in the world who made scoring the basketball look effortless; but what seemed to be in question about Kevin Durant was not his game but if him and his right hand man Russell Westbrook could co exist on the court. Westbrook since getting into the league was looked at as an explosive guard who’s shear athleticism and raw emotion on the basketball court set him apart; but he was also a guard who couldn't take care of the basketball while also at times seemed to be a ball hogging point guard. Nevertheless these two young stars were Oklahoma City’s future and from losing in the 2012 NBA Finals they had nothing but championships on their mind as they became a legitimate title contend...

Look At How Things Have Changed

First off congratulations to the Golden State Warriors on winning the 2017 NBA finals and big shout out to NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant. Since the 2012 Finals where we saw a Lebron led Miami Heat team beat a young up and coming team led by Kevin Durant in 5 games; there was a feeling that these 2 superstars will meet again for all the marbles. At the end of the day no matter how you get to the finals, it means nothing if you don't perform in the finals and that is what Kevin Durant did this finals. Dropping 30 plus points every game while going up against Lebron James is not something to just look over as a Lebron fan and definitely as a basketball fan. Kevin Durant didn't just come to play ball, he came to make a statement on the world’s biggest stage against the world’s best player. Of course, not to be forgotten the 2x MVP Stephen Curry; who hasn't lived up to his greatness in past finals appearances, was the ...

Make the Pass or Shoot the Ball?

Make the Pass or Shoot the Ball?                                                                                     Michael Jordan to many is arguably the best basketball player to ever play the game of basketball. Why? For his ability to rip his opponent ’s heart out with clutch shot after clutch shot, posterizing dunks, trash talk and of course he is six for six in finals appearanc...

The Most Beautiful Game in The World

The Most Beautiful Game in The World                                                             By: Ryan Richards             What do you value most in life? Probably your family, friends, life itself, whatever the case may be you hold that thing on a high enough pedestal that if it were taken off it would affect you in some way. For a select few what they have on their pedestal is the honor of representing their country. Ways in which one can represent their country is through the Olympics where gifted athletes from around the world compete at the highest level for bragging rights every four years. A sport such as soccer, which is the...
